Simple Pleasures - Girls, Dogs and Water

Last weekend K was out of town and so the girls and I decided to spend Sabbath with a picnic on the Davidson River.  We drove over there and couldn't find a picnic table so we just pulled off at a wide spot in the road, set up our chairs and made our own picnic spot.

After lunch the girls decided to take the dogs to explore the water.

The dogs didn't like the water as much as the girls, so they quickly ended up in their crate to watch from the sidelines.

The girls, on the other hand, loved the freezing water and competed to see who could stay under in the cold the longest.

Once they determined the water was indeed freezing, Rachel decided to warm up on a rock, while still keeping her hands in the water so she could splash Hannah.

All in all we had a wonderful couple of hours all to ourselves with just the sound of a passing car or motorcycle every once in a while.  A great way to relax and remember that we not only loved each other, but actually enjoy each other's company when we let ourselves !!
